Tribute to Pakistani Activist Asma Jahangir

In February 2018, the world lost an amazing advocate for women’s rights in Pakistan and around the world. This song is a small tribute.

ये गीत पाकिस्तान में धर्म की अंधी राजनीती के विरुद्ध लिखा गया था और बाद में निशांत नाट्य मंच ने इसे में भारत की परिस्थितियों के अनुसार शब्द जोड़े। हम ने इसे पुनः तब प्रकाशित किया जब अस्मा जहांगीर की मृत्यु हुई। अस्मा जहांगीर का नाम उन लोगों में आता है जिन्होंने बहुत कठिन परिस्थितियों में मानवाधिकारों के बचाव की लड़ाई लड़ी।1977 में ज़िया-उल-हक़ द्वारा मार्शल लॉ घोषित किए जाने के बाद पाकिस्तान की एक वकील, जहाँगीर, एक लोकतंत्र-समर्थक और मानवाधिकार कार्यकर्ता बन गयीं। उन्होंने पाकिस्तान के हुदूद अध्यादेश के खिलाफ लड़ाई लड़ी।

Asma Jahangir's name shines brightly among those who defended human rights in the most difficult circumstances. A lawyer from Pakistan, Jahangir became a pro-democracy and human rights activist after Zia-ul-Haq declared martial law in 1977.
